Honeymoon - Part 4

The last day of our time at Mt. Rainier, we decided to try one more restaurant, that also stated it had amazing blackberry pie.  We didn't hear about it until the last second.  So we could only go for breakfast.  But did that stop us?  Nope.
 We had blackberry lattes.
And split the blackberry french toast breakfast.
And then split the blackberry pie.  Blackberry overload.  A very, very good overload.
Then we headed out for a steam train ride.
Half way through the steam train ride, we stopped at a lake for an all-inclusive BBQ lunch.
This was the BBQ.  A dude in Ashford made it from scrap train parts.
After the train ride, we explored a local church.
And I rang the bells. :)
After our week at Mt. Rainier, we finished our honeymoon with a road trip down to New Mexico.  It was really fun!  (Blair did most of the driving...)
Does anybody know why Idaho had all these fences up in the fields?  The only thing I could come up with was wind breakers.  But they were EVERYWHERE!
Our first night we stayed on base at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.  Not much to talk about.  Definitely nothing to eat.  We left early in the morning planning to grab breakfast on the road.  2.5 hours later, we came across our first food source.  We weren't being picky.  We were STARVING.  There just wasn't anything around.  We were quite happy when we came across a Subway and tried out their breakfast sandwiches.  Not awesome.  Not bad.  But they filled us up, which really was the point.

Our second night was spent in Denver, Colorado.
Blair decided to surprise me with a fancy treat for our last night on the honeymoon.  I had no idea what it was going to be.  As we drove into Denver, he wouldn't answer any questions....until we got to a hotel and I asked if that was the hotel.  He didn't answer, just gave me a big smile.  We were at the fancy Hilton downtown!  And they gave us free parking for the night since we were on our honeymoon.
Our room was really nice!
And the package that Blair purchased included champagne and chocolates delivered to the room.  We were ready for dinner so we decided to order room service for that and have the champagne and chocolates delivered at the same time.
It was SO good!
And the view out of our windows was awesome!   We could see the mountains and the city, all in one.
The other part of the package Blair bought was all-inclusive room service breakfast.
I had the blueberry pecan french toast, sausage, and orange juice.  Blair had the breakfast burrito and grapefruit juice.  Both were AMAZINGLY GOOD!  I mean, absolutely super crazy good.
We have no idea what was happening at the convention center in the morning, but it looked like some kind of talent show audition, with crazy outfits and camera crew.
But I really liked the bear peeking in the windows of the convention center.
On the drive down from Denver to Albuquerque, we drove past the Air Force Academy.
It was cool to see the church.
When we stopped for lunch, we got some nice words of wisdom to live by.
And we finally made it to NM!
When we got to our new house, we popped open an extra bottle of the champagne from our wedding and opened presents.  It was really fun!

  1. Hi Sarah- I think the 'fences' you saw in the fields are actually snowbreaks. To keep the blowing snow drifts off the highway (when possible).

  2. That makes more sense than wind breakers. :) Thanks!
